- 외암 이간의 철학사적 지위 재검토 －낙론 확립 과정에 미친 그의 영향을 중심으로－ -
이간은 호락논쟁에서 낙학을 대표하는 참여자로 널리 알려졌지만 실제로 그는 호학의 일 원이기 때문에 이러한 평가에는 논란의 여지가 있다. 특히 최근의 호락논쟁 연구에서는 호 학과 낙학이라고 하는 학파적 맥락이 부각되면서 이간의 철학사적 위치는 다소 모호해졌다. 본 논문은 이러한 진전된 학계의 인식을 적극적으로 수용하면서도, 그러한 맥락 안에서 이 간의 철학사적 중요성을 구체적으로 규명해 보고자 한다. 그것은 특히 낙학의 종지로 알려 진 심･기질 분변의 입장을 수립하는 과정에 이간이 끼친 영향에 주목하는 방식으로 시도된 다. 이를 통해서 우리는 이간이 직접적으로 낙학의 학자들과 소통하면서 영향을 끼치지는 않았을지라도, 그의 주장이 이후 낙학의 형성 과정에 지대한 영향을 미쳤음을 확인할 수 있 을 것이다.
A Rethinking of Oiam Yi Gan’s Position in the History of Philosophy in Joseon －Focusing on His Influence on the Establishment of the Nak School
This paper examined Oiam Yi Gan’s Position in the History of Philosphy in Joseon. Yi Gan is well known as a prominent participant in the Horak debate within Nak school. However, this evaluation is controversial, because he actually belonged to the Ho school, not the Nak school. Recently, since academic trend focusing on context of the debate among the schools has extended, Yi Gan’s position has become more ambiguous. While actively embracing this advanced understanding, this paper aims to examine Yi Gan’s significance in the history of philosophy in detail within that context. The investigation focuses on his impact on the formation of the claim that mind-heart is distinct from temperament, which is the most important doctrine of Nak school. Through this, we will discover that Yi Gan had a profound influence on the development of the doctrine.
