Existence and consciousness, the fundamental question of humans, is explained in Seong yusik non (Discourse on the Theory of Consciousness) as ālaya vijñāna that transforms by consciousness. According to the consciousness only(yusik) philosophy, existence and consciousness arise through relating subjective to objective, and subjective conditions to objective of perception, which is caused by the division of the eighth ālaya vijñāna. In other words, existence and consciousness form by the reactions of a sense organ with the capacity of perception and the object to be perceived through perceiving activities. However, such perception process is completed through the actions of four ties(四緣), actively or passively. The four ties are: inyeon (relation), deung mugan yeon(similar and immediately antecedent condition), soyeon yeon(distant referents as causal condition), jeungsang yeon (contributory factor as cause/condition) While our existence and perception consist of cause and effect, there should be yeon for the effect to realize. For the moment of perceiving the object through the activity of soyeon yeon, deung mugan yeon should operate in order to continue the perception. Also, existence and consciousness can be established with proper aids through the operation of jeungsang yeon. Like this, the operation of four types of yeun plays a fundamental role in enabling perception and existence. The review of the four types of yeun in Seong yusik non makes us aware that: existence enables perception and vice versa; cause enables effect; the other enables self; and the entire universe relates as an unity. Particularly, four types of yeun includes the spirit of Mahayana by going through the early age Buddhism, abhidharma, and consciousness-only. of the other and to recover the spirit of community going beyond the self in the age in which maintaining the distance with the others is perpetuating due to the situation caused by the spread of Corona virus.
